Non-isocyanate Polyurethane (NIPU) Platform
Isocyanate compounds are essential components of currently available polyurethane coatings. Isocyanates, due to their toxicity concerns, have been targeted for replacement with safer alternatives. Our Non-Isocyanate Polyurethane (NIPU) technology offers a very versatile platform for developing a wide range of PU coatings ranging from 1K, 2K, moisture-cure, heat-cure, and UV-cure coating systems, which can be customized for myriads if end-use applications. With zero isocyanate content, a low-energy process, and readily available raw materials, these sustainable NIPU-based formulations are promising next-generation coating systems.

Bio-based Polyols for Industrial Coatings (>50% renewable content)
Improving the sustainability profiles of CASE products has been challenging and time-consuming. Our Bio-based polyol technology has been built on principles of Green Chemistry and can be easily customized for end-use industrial coating specifications. Bio-based polyols for industrial coatings with varying OH content, functionality, viscosity and >50% bio-renewable content can effectively replace incumbent petroleum-based-polyols not only at lower cost but also brings outstanding additional benefits of hydrophobicity and better flow and leveling.

Heavy Metal-Free Pretreatments for Corrosion Resistant Systems
Hexavalent chromium (Cr VI) based metal pretreatments (especially for Al alloys) have been the gold standard for corrosion resistance performance. Cr (VI), due to its carcinogenic nature, has been discontinued from such use, but its effective alternative is much sought after. Organic-inorganic hybrid coatings have emerged as promising systems as heavy metal-free pretreatments. Our heavy-metal-free pretreatments for non-ferrous metals and alloys leverage sol-gel technology and promise corrosion resistance performance better than Cr (VI) based pretreatments. This patented technology is available for ready commercialization.

BPA-Free & Bio-based Epoxy Resins and Coatings
There has been pressing demand from the customers in the developed nations for Bisphenol A-free epoxy resins and coatings owing to increasing concerns of toxicity of BPA. Using commercially available raw materials and simple and low-energy manufacturing process, our BPA-free epoxy resin technology provides opportunity to offer new generation BPA-free and (optionally) bio-based epoxy coatings for some high-volume coating markets.

Advanced Polyurethane Dispersions (PUDs)
PUDs, due to their outstanding performance, are increasingly growing popularity as binders for high-end applications on wood, plastics, auto-interiors, bio-medical equipment, to name a few. Our PUD platforms can be used to develop products with NMP-free, high bio-renewable content, varying crosslinking functionality, UV-curing (including UV-LED curing) capabilities.

Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Coatings based on Sol-Gel Technology
Sol-Gel technology allows deposition of Organic-Inorganic hybrid (OIH) coatings with controlled morphology customizable at micro/nano level. Our extensively studied and validated sol-gel technology can be leveraged for developing OIH coatings for industrial applications. Our recent pioneering development (2 US Patents) has led to UV-curable OIH coatings that open up myriads of potential applications in pretreatments, coatings, advanced thin films, and Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) applications.

Advanced UV-Cure coatings (Innovative technology)
UV-curing is among the fastest growing technologies in coatings, inks, and in 3D printing applications. UV curing offers rapid curing, low to zero VOC, low energy consumption, and high efficiency. However, there are some technical limitations inherent to free-radical mechanism and use of acrylate components. Our innovative UV-cure technology addresses these limitations and offers formulations with outstanding performance with outstanding adhesion rapid cure.
